Dani Maver , Wurundjeri-willam country (LANDSCAPE 2023)
The Gawa Reserve, near Watsons Creek in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, is part of the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri-willam clan. The Gawa Wurundjeri Resource trail within the Reserve provides visitors with a deeper appreciation of how this landscape provided food, medicines, implements, shelters and the clothes for the Wurundjeri - all seen as created for their enjoyment and use by their Dreamtime spirits. The Wurundjeri people take their name from the magnificent Urrun, manna gums (the trees with white trunks, in centre and to the left) and the djuri, a larvae that grows within the trees.
