Ralph Green, Woolamai on patrol (SEASCAPE 2025)
Woolamai surf-beach on Phillip Island is very popular with surfers but has a sad reputation for the loss of life due to people not being able to read the water for the presence of undertows and rips. During the summer months, the beach is patrolled and that was in place when I visited but the weekday, low tide, cool weather, and lack of surf meant the dedicated life savers had little to do.
