Andy Martin, The Painted Hills (LANDSCAPE 2023)

This image was captured from a tiny plane 1500 feet above the Painted Hills near Kati Thanda - Lake Eyre. The rich red, ochre, and terracotta colours are attributed to oxidised minerals. Dry riverbeds create intricate patterns in the sandstone and are dotted with vibrant green trees.
