Clifford Ford, "The Neck" Kennedy Range (AERIAL 2026)

Late afternoon sunlight and shadows caress scree slopes and cliffs of the Eastern Kennedy Range Escarpment. The terrain falls 100m away from a sharp break in the plateau to the west down to a vast arid plane to the east and the escarpment dances away to the horizon around buttes and in and out of gorges. Views of the escarpment from our camp high on "The Neck" in the foreground are breathtaking while highly fossiliferous strata, captured in this aerial shot are just below us, frustratingly close but inaccessible.
