Eva Schroeder, The Moonscape of Mungo (LANDSCAPE 2023)
Walking in the footsteps (and with permission) of the Ngyiampa, Mutthi Mutthi and Southern Paakantyi Aboriginal people, we were taken by a passionate tour guide, and storyteller, to the Mungo lunette (known locally as the Walls of China), part of the Mungo National Park situated within the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Area on the plains of south-west NSW and home to Mungo Man and Mungo Lady – the oldest human remains in Australia. The sense of awe, silence and love of this ancient landscape was wonderful to feel.
