Peter Battye, Swamp Paperbark (LANDSCAPE 2023)

At the mouth of the Inman River there is a particularly striking stand of Swamp Paperbarks (Malaleuca ericifolia) which form a dense thicket in the intertidal/estuarine environment. I chose to display the paperbarks in black and white to emphasise the texture of the thick, soft, papery bark as well as the contrasting blacks and whites, shapes and composition.
