Laura Symes, Surreal (URBAN 2025)
I was captivated by the reflection in this puddle—it felt like stepping into an upside-down world. The building’s brick and painted facade, with its worn textures and graffiti, seemed so much more interesting when mirrored in the still water. What struck me most was how the puddle transformed something ordinary into something extraordinary. The bars on the windows, the little tree clinging to the side of the building and even the shadow of a cable added layers of detail I might have overlooked otherwise. It was a fleeting moment of perfect light and perspective and I couldn’t resist capturing it.
