Katie Dew, Sunrise over Mt Barney (LANDSCAPE 2023)

In January 2022, a few friends and I left Brisbane in the early hours of the morning to hike into the Mt Barney National Park, in the Scenic Rim, South East Queensland. We started hiking in the dark, up and down hills, stayed under trees when there were a few spots of rain, sprinkle in some 'are we there yet' moments and then we came to a small clearing just in time to see the sun starting to rise over the horizon and light up the gorgeous mountains in front of us. One of those pinch yourself moments. If you look closely, it almost looks like there is a gorilla in the rock formations. This is a HDR photo using the Canon 750D and the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens, handheld.
