Michelle Hartnett, Sugar cane fields at dusk (LANDSCAPE 2023)
I shot this scene of our local sugar cane fields, between Alstonville and Ballina, in the NSW Northern Rivers, at dusk. The setting sun was transforming the tangles of entwined green and gold reeds, crowned with their wispy, delicate flower heads, into rows of coloured feather dusters, jutting up to meet the arriving night sky. Behind them, the paddocks were glowing with golden light as the day's blue sky began to fade and early evening arrived. It was a magical scene to both watch and photograph. Shot with my Canon 80D.
