Thomas Martin McShane, Rose Valley (LANDSCAPE 2025)
Hiking through the valleys of Cappadocia, Turkiye is wholly rewarding, even for those not packing a camera. The astonishing landscape is dotted with ancient dwellings, cave churches and unique geologic features such as the fairy chimneys. As I was hiking with friends I didn't have the luxury of choosing the time of day, the best angle of the sun or the 'perfect' vantage point, but I did find myself captivated by the colourful rock landscapes of the Rose Valley, formed millions of years ago by three volcanic eruptions.
