Stefan Eberhard, Nullarbor Night Sky & Myall Tree (LANDSCAPE 2025)
There is more to the Nullarbor (Latin: meaning “no trees”) than the name suggests. Indeed, there are trees such as this quientessential western myall tree, and the most brilliant starry night skies imaginable. This photo was taken on a cold winter night as a low ground fog gradually enveloped the landscape. The Nullarbor is a kind of wilderness, where it is possible to experience raw and pure nature, profound stillness, immense space with 360-degree uninterrupted horizon views, however these essences are threatened by a colossal, proposed hydrogen / ammonia industrialisation and urbanisation project.
