Chris Doran, Natural Balance (LANDSCAPE 2025)
The coastline of Island Bay, Wellington, is home to many of these rock sculptures. Few of these last more than a week at a time, but they are always rebuilt. I tried to take this photo in a way that shows where we draw our inspiration from the forms of the earth, and where we deviate. Contrast between the rock sculptures the planet has molded and the ones we construct in its image.
