Jen Williams, I Thought Of You - Mona Vale Sunrise (SEASCAPE 2025)

I Thought Of You I have been capturing creative images of sunrises from in the Ocean for a few years. I go to Mona Vale often as I really enjoy the options and I feel like I am going to a concert when I am there. The atmosphere is incredible with the ocean pool beautifully placed between the surf beach and the basin. I love the people I have met there. In this image I have chosen a wide aperture of 2.8. Being able to focus on the surface of the water and capture the light coming from the rising sun, especially on cloudy days where the sun and clouds combine to create some incredibly beautiful moments is something that will never grow old on me. I am so grateful for each morning and the gifts it brings. I chose this image I Thought Of You, alongside my entry Layers of Summer, Layers of Me, as this image is taken 12 months later in December 2024. Feeling through all the layers, it has been an epic and vulnerable journey of self discovery. I think of the Ocean as something that is as necessary for all of us just as food and water is. I feel at One with the Ocean therefore the name I Thought Of You. Once I enter into the water, we are one. I photograph the Ocean for my own sense of joy and wonder, to connect to myself and my senses, and to see what I can create and share with others. I also hope that we may continue to know the importance of and protect the Ocean. I hope you enjoy this image. Thanks Jen
