Thomas Martin McShane, Form, Function & Faith (URBAN 2025)
The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in Oman, located in the capital city of Muscat built from 300,000 tons of Indian sandstone and able to accommodate 20,000 worshipers. The Mosque is an urban destination not only for those practicing their faith but for many fascinated by the perfect architectural balance of form and function, and I felt this relationship was best highlighted in black and white without the aesthetic distractions colour can impose.
