Kathy Brown, Forest Gems (LANDSCAPE 2023)

The Gibraltar Range waratah (Telopea aspera), the only one of its kind which can have several flowers on the one bush. They are tall with vibrant coloured heads and leathery leaves which stand out incredibly in the dry sclerophyll forest of Gibraltar range National Park. I arrived at the park a bit late in the season and was so happy to see them still flowering and quite profusely so was able to take some photos, they seem to do very well following bushfires and stand out against the blackened trunks of the trees.
