Dave Rumbler, Even when we are ghosts (LANDSCAPE 2025)
In the depths of the night, amid the turmoil of a collapsing marriage, I felt drawn to capture the atmosphere of Melville Ford before it was lost to time, replaced by a new bridge. The scene unfolded like a vision of the world’s end—the lower third of the image shrouded in darkness and mystery, while above, a crisp, shifting sky hinted at something beyond. The mood in this photograph took my breath away, a reflection of both the place and the moment in which it was taken.
