Paula Walland, Essence of the Kimberleys (LANDSCAPE 2025)
Travelling through the Kimberley region of Western Australia, this scene captivated me, perfectly capturing the sense of isolation that defines the area. The dry foliage, the sparse trees still in their winter slumber and the dry creek beds all depicted a harsh, untamed and lonely landscape. The absence of people confirmed just how remote this place truly is. The overcast sky deepened the feeling of solitude, with the giant boab tree standing as a quiet sentinel.
