Udesh Hangili Gedara, Cradle of Light (LANDSCAPE 2025)

After a freezing hike in the early hours of the morning to capture the sunrise from Mt. Campbell at Cradle Mountain National Park, it was well worth the effort. The sun was hitting the peaks of Cradle Mountain with bright red and orange colours giving another fresh start to the Fagus. As the sun rises over Cradle Mountain, its jagged peaks emerge from the morning mist, bathed in golden light. The sky ignites, reflecting upon the glassy surface of Dove Lake below. Wisps of fog started to drift across the water, creating a mystical veil between the rugged wilderness and the waking sky. It was the greatest photographic moment for me.
