seank Kinchela, Winanga Li (SEASCAPE 2023)
This famous seascape is situated on the Far South Coast of NSW, in the small town of bermagui. Horse head rock is believed to be millions of years old. Winanga Li is Indigenous for to remember, to see and to learn in my grandmothers dialect of Gamilaroi. Gamilaroi is the second biggest clan group in NSW and is situated in the far north west of NSW. My people used the stars to navigate country and also navigate seasons the Milky Way forms the shape of an emu and when the legs are open on the emu we know it’s Dhinawan “emu” egg laying season and we are not to hunt them during this time. I am a proud Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri man and have found art and photography to help tell mine and my peoples stories of land, sea and culture through my art and photography. This shot is a composition A focus stack of three images for the foreground to get the whole subject in focus and then a stack of 9 images for the Milky way.
