Josh Tagi, Tidal Range (SEASCAPE 2023)
The region around Broome and Derby in northern Western Australia is well known for having some of the most significant tidal fluctuations on a day-to-day basis of almost anywhere in the world, up to 12m in some cases! This photograph was taken on a charter flight out to Cockatoo Island, a remote island off the coast of the Dampier Archipelago. The receding tide at the time was exposing a number of sand banks along the coast, which I attempted to capture in this photograph.
