Levin Barrett, The Arrival (LANDSCAPE 2024)

After shooting astro at Mungo National Park, I was driving to the campground when I got a flat tyre. Rather than dealing with it at 2am, I decided to just sleep in the car on the side of the road. When the sunrise alarm clock woke me up I was surrounded by an eerie fog which I couldn't resist. Out with the camera, I was shooting the purple foggy dawn with the sun behind me when I turned behind and instantly saw this developing sunrise through the trees. It was a quick reposition and lens change but I managed to capture the perfect moment. As the sun shone through the grove of trees, it was illuminating the remaining fog and the trees looked like aliens advancing towards me. Best flat tyre I ever had!
