Neighbours here are stacked up and down, cheek-to-cheek and across-the-way. Just as in Hitchcock’s classic, life in this apartment complex is lived in a ‘mise en scene’ of sets, props, lighting and characters. This neighbour entered the stage to assess whether the fickle summer weather would allow him to continue working on his tan.
