Petra Matthews, On the Great Ocean Road (LANDSCAPE 2026)

On a journey along the iconic Great Ocean Road, I chose to pause and turn my lens toward the road itself. More than a path between destinations, it is a ribbon of possibility — winding through coastal cliffs, rolling farmland, and ever-changing skies. Rain, hail, or shine, this road leads to some of Australia’s most breathtaking landscapes, but in this moment, it became the subject. Its curves draw the eye forward, inviting exploration and promising beauty beyond the bend. This stretch of asphalt has carried me toward countless sunrises, storm fronts, and quiet reflections. It is not just a road, but a journey — one that continues to bring me joy and remains one of my most cherished escapes.
