Phil Thomson, 'Milford in the Mist' (SEASCAPE 2026)

This shot was taken during the first morning cruise with Mitre Peak Cruises on April 14th 2025. I was literally hanging onto the hand railing on the stern of the boat with one hand and camera in the other, just shooting. My daughter & I stayed at Milford the previous night and it began raining around 10pm that night and just didn't stop...water, puddles and waterfalls everywhere. Apparently 143ml rain in the 24 hrs and and wind gusting up to 78 kph blowing the waterfalls back up the rock faces. My camera is a Pentax K1 mk2 and I had the Pentax 28-105mm lens on that boat trip. The settings were: S/S-1/5sec, fstop f14, ISO 200. RAW DNG file Shot at 9.34am NZ time It was edited in ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate 2025 after being run through DxO Deep Prime.
