Heidi Beverley, Mermaid (AERIAL 2026)

The artist’s focus as an emerging photographer lies in abstract and unconventional perspectives - especially around water and sand/mud, shaped by time and elements. This image captures textures of sand shaped by wind and water from Sandy Point, in the Kimberley. Sculpted over time, these fragile formations reveal nature’s quiet precision, shaping intricate surface patterns through sediment and flow. From above, these transitions become abstract formations that blend natural structures with vivid, almost surreal colouration. The image is titled, ‘Mermaid’ and conveys an abstract form which resemble a mermaid's tail.
