Nilmini De Silva, Meandering Journeys (AERIAL 2025)
As an aerial photographer and a water engineer, I am always searching for patterns caused by water in the landscape. I find the meandering journeys of natural flow so much more interesting than the linear patterns created by manmade channels. This image was taken at the edge of a South Australian coastline, and shows me that water is life. The further you get from the main water channel, the less dense the vegetation. Another interesting element is the smaller channel coming in front the top that adds another bit of narrative, demonstrating that the life on the banks of rivers and channels is proportional to the flow that it carries.
