Jen Williams, Layers of Summer, Layers of Me - Collaroy Ocean Sunrise (SEASCAPE 2025)
Layers of Summer, Layers of Me The first day of Summer 2023 I was out at sunrise with my friends at Collaroy. We had spent a lot of mornings that year in this beautiful spot. There is so much joy there. This moment was the beginning of something really special for me. I started to realise I could capture the beauty of the Oceans many layers and depth as well as the light dancing on the surface. The Sun bokeh is fabulously layered from the left emerging completely full in the centre. The focus is on the surface of the water so I can capture the layers above and below as the sun rises. My heart had fully opened again, and has expanded with more and more joy ever since that morning. I will always remember it,, as I felt so connected to the Ocean, to my friends and to our shared joy of the photographing the ocean, whilst actually being in the ocean together. I was lucky enough to have my friend take a photo of me that morning so I can look back on the absolute joy I am emitting, and just as lucky I feel connected to that moment of joy and contentment in this photo. Water photography is an amazing journey to go on. I use a canon R6mii. I use a water housing by Aquatech. This photo was shot at f1.8 and a shutter of 1/250secs. I hope you enjoy the creative expression and emotion felt by me on this first sunrise in Summer, 1st December 2023. I hope to give you a sense and essence of the beginning of the deeply connected journey I have been taken on since. 11 months after this photo was taken, and hundreds of sunrises all year round since, I launched my website and business. Thank you so much for your time I really appreciate it. Thanks Jen
