Peter Barrien, Last Light Motukieke Beach (LANDSCAPE 2026)

The confluence of a low tide and sunset, at Motukieke beach on the west coast of the New Zealand south island, is unusual. Low tide is required to walk around the beach to photograph the sea stacks. Even then I had to get a move-on. The sky glowed in the last light, and later turned a deep crimson but the best story was in this golden light.
