Nick Yates, Last light at Urquhart Bluff (SEASCAPE 2026)
This exposure was made just after 8pm on December 17 2025 at Urquhart Bluff, between Aireys Inlet and Anglesea on Victoria's Surf Coast. The late evening sunlight gave the sandstone an incredible orange glow. I knew that the sunlit orange sandstone against the blue sky, with the ocean in shadow would work well on Fuji Velvia 50. The shadows were moving quickly as the sun set, but I'm happy with how the open tunnel into the ocean is framed by the shadow cutting diagonally across the scene, balanced by the sunlit upper left of the image. Canon EOS 7s (30V) Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS Fujichrome Velvia 50 The transparency was scanned using a mirrorless camera & macro lens then edited in Lightroom.
