Nilmini De Silva, Kangaroo Tail (AERIAL 2026)
I captured this image on a flight over the Lake Eyre basin this year. As an aerial photographer, I look for texture, tone, shape, and colour to strengthen my compositions. I’m also drawn to pareidolia. That’s our tendency to see meaning in abstract forms, so you can imagine my excitement when a kangaroo tail appeared in the landscape below. In a land as vast as the Outback, it felt fitting that a kangaroo revealed itself to me.
