John Phillips, Gollum... is that you? (LANDSCAPE 2026)

Tawhai Falls — better known to LOTR's fans as Gollum’s Pool — sits quietly in the heart of Tongariro National Park, a UNESCO Dual World Heritage site. Poised above the pool is a figure that could be mistaken for Gollum's stunt double (just kidding, no offence intended). As the light faded, the rain drifted in and the last visitors slipped away. The noise softened, the colours deepened, and this little volcanic amphitheatre began revealing the secrets it keeps from the midday crowds.
