Sharon Springer, Franklin River Swing Bridge (LANDSCAPE 2026)
This bouncy little gateway over the Franklin River—officially the Franklin River Swing Bridge—is where the adventure politely clears its throat before shouting “let’s go!”. A much-loved detour along the Lyell Highway, it invites hikers and road-trippers alike to test their nerve, soak up the rainforest vibes, and peek at the wild river below before the real challenge of Frenchmans Cap looms ahead. Equal parts rainforest postcard and pre-hike hype moment, it’s proof that even the warm-up act can steal the show.
