Mark Kriedemann, Fog on Fangorn (LANDSCAPE 2026)
Antarctic beech trees atop the mountainous region of Springbrook just outside of the Gold Coast captured during a summer sunrise. Having camped the night before, I was rudely awoken by some bandicoots which meant I had time to get further up the mountain to see how the light and fog would play about the trees. About 10 minutes after sunrise the rays were just strong enough to warm the extremely dense fog which had enveloped Springbrook. This created a soft glow in the background and lent an almost fantastical feel to the scene. It made me think of the Forest of Fangorn in Lord Of The Rings.
