ingetje tadros, Ennedi Desert (LANDSCAPE 2026)
The Ennedi Desert, located in northeastern Chad, has a rich history that dates back thousands of years. In ancient times, it was a lush region with abundant water sources, supporting vibrant communities and wildlife. Rock art and archaeological sites in the area testify to its historical significance. Over time, though, the desert has become much more arid, and water sources have dwindled, transforming it into the vast, sandy landscape we know today. Despite this, the Ennedi Desert remains a place of incredible natural beauty, with unique rock formations, arches, and a rich biodiversity. Today, it’s a remote and relatively unexplored region, drawing adventurers and researchers captivated by its mystique and ancient heritage. It truly remains one of Africa’s hidden gems. Chad.
