Terry O'Hagan, Dolphin Rock (SEASCAPE 2024)
I had visited this location on numerous occasions waiting for Mother Nature to "Let it pop!" Prior to this morning, the weather form had been meticulously studied and it was looking good! Up at 2a.m. for the hour and a half drive to arrive in the pitch black with a receding tide, the adrenalin was rising. Sunrise (or lack of) was fast approaching, it was clear, there was not going to be any 'Pop'. A quick change of plan, I'm now going for a moody mono with a slow shutter, f/11, 35mm, ISO 320 at 0.3 seconds to show movement but not 'ghost the water out'. A polariser and ND Grad were also used to address glare and mange the few highlights. Welllies were also flooded!
