Tim Burgess, Cast Away (AERIAL 2024)

For years I have wanted to capture a shot in the ocean that depicts the true scale of its beauty. Working with a local tour group, I asked of them to drop me off in the most remote island we could find in the Indian Ocean. It became an issue for the boat to get past some of the coral banks forcing me to walk several meters in the water with my gear above my head to keep it dry to the sand island. When walking there, it was amazing to see no other signs of life on the sand other than from small birds who have seaked refuge from the water there & the small coral that had washed up. A true feeling of being a cast away yet one of the most amazing experiences being alone in the ocean. When you zoom in you can see me on the tiny sand island surrounded by nothing but the ocean.
