The cityscape impacts the viewer by evoking a feeling of awe. The immense verticality of the buildings emphasizes the scale of modern urban life and the insignificance of the individual within it. Yet rather than feeling oppressive, the composition also suggests possibility. The open space of sky at the centre acts as a visual escape, drawing the gaze upward and offering a moment of reflection.
